大津絵（おおつ-え）とは、滋賀県大津市で江戸時代初期から名産としてきた民俗絵画で、東海道を旅する旅人たちの間の土産物・護符として知られています。
鬼は大津絵にとって欠かせない登場人物であり、この「鬼の三味線」も有名な画題です。酒や遊興の類は、鬼に喰われるように身を滅ぼすという教えにこと寄せ、すべて人間の惰情をいましめたものです。
